Leisure & Pleasure in the Isle of Wight
So far you have been housed, fed and watered. But now The Wight really starts to excel! Hopefully the weather will be good and the beaches, town or many places of interest on the Island may beckon. But alternatively you may prefer a lazy day on our large and attractive sun terrace.
Whatever the weather, your IOW holiday has something for everyone…
Spacious heated indoor pool
The Wight’s heated indoor pool has a raised children’s section* and is open 7-30am – 7.30pm. It is used by Aquarius Divers for a private evening session each week during which hotel guests are very welcome to spectate. We also run two afternoon sessions per week (not in school holiday time) during which local children learn to swim. Please note that we do not suppy towels for the pool or other leisure activities – please remember to bring your own.
* When using ANY of our “wet” facilities children MUST be accompanied by an adult who is physically IN the actual pool hall (not in the games room or out on the terrace)
Always very warm and relaxing, it is available free of charge for the same hours as the pool.
Available free of charge each day from 4.30pm to 6.30pm by notifying Reception of your intent to use (please note that 30 minutes notice is required because of the heat-up period). Outside of those times guests may reserve the cabin (via Reception) for private use at a cost of £3.00 per hour (again the 30 minutes heat-up period is needed).
N.B. No children allowed unless with one of their own parents
Use of our state of the art 6 seater steam room is available free of charge during pool open times. Press just one button and it is ready for use in about 10 minutes.
Again, no children allowed without one of their own parents.
Is open from 7.30am until 10.00pm and features a pool table (50p in the slot) and a table tennis table (no charge but a £3.00 deposit is required, returnable provided bats and ball are returned undamaged).
The Wight has a beautiful full-sized dedicated snooker room which guests may use on payment of £5.00 for a light-box token which regulates (about 70 minutes) the length of play. Children are not normally allowed but consideration will be given to those over 12 years of age who will be playng with a parent.
We also have a small trimnasium for use of those guests who feel the need of cardio-vascular exercise (or in order to combat the effects of the Wight’s Jurracic Breakfasts!)
